Boone Trace 250 Commemorative Relay Hike – Flat Lick Gathering
📍 Warrior’s Path Park, Flat Lick, KY
🗓️ Thursday, May 15 (Day 23)
🕙 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📌 Located on Evergreen Road at the intersection with Warrior’s Path Road
As the Boone Trace 250 Commemorative Relay Hike continues retracing the storied footsteps of Daniel Boone, the community of Flat Lick welcomes hikers and history lovers alike for a special event hosted by the Warrior’s Path Project.
Join us at Warrior’s Path Park—a site rich in heritage where two great trails once converged. From 10 AM to 2 PM, enjoy educational displays, speeches throughout the day, and explore the story of the Great Warrior’s Path (Athawominee)—an ancient trail carved by Indigenous peoples long before the pioneers ever set foot in Kentucky.
There will be a ¼-mile hike to the historic salt lick, a natural draw for wildlife that brought hunters and early settlers into the region. Try your hand in a tomahawk throwing contest, and grab a bite from the on-site food truck.
This gathering is more than a waypoint—it’s a tribute to the deep roots of the land and the many peoples who traveled it. Come walk the path, share the story, and be part of living history.
